02 Key features

  • Layer 3 core switch on the 2nd floor handles inter-VLAN routing between lab segments.
  • 1st floor and ground floor LW switches uplink to the core over 802.1Q trunks; each RW switch connects to the LW switch on its floor.
  • Custom VLANs segment lab traffic and isolate laboratory assets.
  • Core also acts as DHCP server, with a separate address pool per lab segment.
  • Rapid-PVST spanning tree for fast convergence and loop prevention.
  • Six wireless access points, one on every LW and RW switch, give lab machinery reliable Wi-Fi.
